Two people had to be rescued by the Maketu Coastguard after the boat they were in overturned in the weekend. In a post on the Maketu Facebook page says a vessel overturned on the Maketu bar late Saturday night. “The two occupants were rescued from the water using Kohinui Rescue and Jetski 1. “We are very happy to report that he is back home and doing well, albeit a little tired.” Coastguard recovered the overturned vessel on Sunday.
“One man was airlifted to hospital as a precaution,” says the post.
